"It" to be made in to a film

I always considered the mini-series to be just a long film - but anyway, this ought to be good. It was (and still is) the only horror film to truly scare the brown stuff out of me

Even when you find out that it's just a big bug at the end?

Re: "It" to be made in to a film

this was the last book I read properly. I saw the DVD recently too, I look forward to seeing it as a film.

Mind you I'd like to see the stand as a film more

Well how the hell can you get a book like this into a film unless its a bloody long film which then would make it the same as the 2 parter?

I always thought it was 1 film originally? Damn, I learn something new everyday. I enjoyed the original. I'm looking forward to this one.

Re: "It" to be made in to a film

I remember watching the mini-series when I was younger and it was the first Tv program that truely scared the *cough* out of me. Still I had to watch it through to the end lol.

Would look forward to seeing this made into a film if its done right but my guess is it will just be all effects and probably lose half the story.

As long as they don't go 'Pennywise' with the production costs, it could turn out to be OK.

Re: "It" to be made in to a film

To make a film of this would be a travesty in my opinion, there are a lot of side stories that need to be covered to complete the picture as a whole and to try and condense it into a 90-120min film would take away from the true essence of what King was conveying in the book.

A bit more info on the film

I enjoy King's books and seldom do the film's & TV adaptations come close to getting across Kings own thoughts and images that are so clearly seen in his writings.

Unabridged audio books of his works are very good too

The audio books /can/ be good, depends on the reader. Luckily the RNIB are starting to use better people on their talking books now.

Id prefer to read them mind.

Stephen king films are generally long any way. I would go see it

I thought the "Salem's Lot" two-part TV show (starring David Soul) was very good, myself.

I listen to a lot of audio books Jefferson T, must have well over a 1000 in my collection. And yes your right its all down to the reader, I hate monotonic reading. Audio books need emotive reading.
