Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

Well, as it stands I am sticking to my guns lol.

I am in Cardiff and I dont see any ITV player in the demand section. Not calling you guys liars, but until I recive this service the staff are ( kind of ) correct on what they told me.

Guess it's going to roll out in different areas at different dates and times maybe. But if you do have it, hope your enjoying it. Though i'm a wee bit gutted it's not in Cardiff yet lol.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

Are you getting it through pressing the red button on ITV 1 ? Or are you going into the demand section and then going to catch up tv / tv channels ?

If not, how are you getting to view ITV player ? And when you say no tv choice, do you mean there are no programs yet to view under the ITV on demand section ?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

ITV stuff in catchup, here in Plymouth. There's also a channel for it in TV Choice, but no programmes as yet.

By the way, doesn't "ITV Net Player" feel so contrived? Why isn't it just ITV Player?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

Looks like they are rolling it out across the network bit by bit. Can't see them launching it in just ex Telewest areas and not the ex ntl: areas. VM seem to be an all or nothing for their new launches these days.

Post Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

No ITV Net Player here yet in Aylesbury/Watford on ex-NTL/ex-CW with Pace standard V Box. Perhaps it is a geographical rollout or perhaps it is a platform (i.e. ex-NTL, ex-Telewest) issue. If you are posting an "I do/don't have it yet" remark then please specifiy location, platform (i.e. ex-NTL, ex-Telewest), if you know it, and even STB type. Thanks.

Maybe they named it ITV Net Player because ITV Player was too similar to iPlayer or maybe they just wanted it to sound internetty. I hate it - i-this and e-that and they don't always mean the same thing. My father in law mistakenly refers to High Definition as HDi because his Peugeot is a Diesel Injected and now cars and other things have e prefixes/suffixes because they are economical or environmentally friendly.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

Perhaps (THIS THREAD) would be a more appropriate place to discuss whether or not you're getting the ITV Player yet.....

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

The rollout is being split up over a few days.

Knowsley Platform 24th February
Langley Platform 25th February
Bromley Platform 26th February

So don't panic if you don't have it today.
