If you click the Connection widget up near the top of the screen and see .brig. there, then yep it certainly does!

Thanks for the heads up, just ordered. They wouldn't accept the order on 0845 454 1111 because it wasn't showing as enabled, but she gave me the number of sales (0800 0526060) and they put my order through. Looking forward to next Thursday now.

Re: 50Mb areas
OK so reading through the board the cost appears to be £10 PM extra on top of my XL package plus £80 activation?
A couple of questions.
1) I have my own N class wireless router -can I use that?
2) Do I need an engineer to fit or can I do it myself.
If I go for 1 and/or 2 above I guess they won't give a rebate on the activation fee!?
Lastly if I opt to use their router are the router settings open so I can choose my own encryption method and key? This is important as currently I have a number of devices I connect via wireless which I don't want to have to reconfigure.

Re: 50Mb areas
guy today tried to add on £ 10, but I told him that yesterday i was quoted an extra £ 5.50 - and he said ok
On the website, it says that the engineer has to come round, but the actual router follows 2 weeks later, which the customer installs themselves - I assume you could use your own router, but they'll still charge you the £ 50 router fee
Can't see anyway out of the £ 50 router cost and £ 30 instalaltion fee, apart from if the installation does tits up and you claim a rebate

Booked for next Tuesday (24/2)! Sales team told me the engineer would bring new modem and router for installation. I may sell me current router on eBay to offset a little of the activation fee!

Question 1 Yes you can
Question 2 You need a tech and no they wont refund any of the £80
You might aswell use your router and keep theres as a spare but you use theres you will have to reconfigure your settings

Re: 50Mb areas
Be aware there is a known issue with the Netgear Router supplied, you can lose 20% of your connection speeds. I was told that Netgear are working on a firmware upgrade to try an reduce this.
The Lewisham techs that installed my 50Mb service bought the Router with them so didnt have to wait

Re: 50Mb areas
Who told you that? It's wrong. Even if it is ordered seperately, you should get it 3 days after order.

as the 50meg installs are all manned in-house (at the mo) we have had a supply of modems and routers sent directly to the service managers,we are dishing these out to the techs as and when they get the installs assigned to them,so there should be no waiting.we are (if required by sub) setting these up for customers as well

nearly right john, its the wireless-N dongle that has the throughput issues,( i posted the same as you in another thread, wrongly as it turns out!)drivers are being worked on by netgear and all 50meggers should get a mail to let them know where to get the free download

When I ordered mine today I asked whether they would be sending the router by post, I got told that the installer will bring it with him on the day. Maybe worth giving them another ring.
