Re: Formula 1 2009 Season
Rumour has it that Honda as it is now will be on the grid with Jenson Button and Bruno Senna as drivers. Bernie Ecclestone is apparantly trying to fund them but will probably get stopped by the EU (competition laws), and Mercedes are still actively looking to supply their engines.

great news, read about this the other day but forgot to post it. it seems it will cost Honda more to lay off the staff than it will for them to keep the team going so I think they are paying some of this too. Senna has huge backing behind him which is helping too.
The only real problem is no testing so if there are any probelms with the car, and lets face it it is a Honda , then they won't have any time to fix it

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season
Hedgie, I moved your post into the F1 thread...
Really great news if it goes ahead, Bransons got the clout behind him to make Honda a viable car for the championship...All they need to do now is to tell Button where to go
---------- Post added at 11:44 ---------- Previous post was at 11:44 ----------
LOL, will edit the threads...
OK, original deleted, everything is back to normal

Not sure if this has been posted, but Virgin have made a bid to buy Honda F1.

I dunno, Honda were one of the biggest spending teams (if not the biggest) over the past few years and got exactly nowhere. Spending large amounts of money in F1 guarantees nothing which is why they had to pull out.
Whoever saves Honda need to do it sooner rather than later, last years car was a joke and so they better hope the people who started the 2009 car learnt from it otherwise it'll be a waste of a season for Honda. One saving thing for them is that McLaren seem happy to supply them with [decent] engines so they should be ok in that department, just the rest of the car they need to fix.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season
Oh dear the punmeisters are going to have a lot of mileage with any possible Virgin tie up to Honda. There is just so much potential for traffic shaping issues.

Good to hear that Honda are likely to be back on the grid.
