Raid help and advice!

I currently have a raid 0 set up on XP with 2 x 160 GB discs. I want to do a clean install of Vista but WITHOUT the raid 0 set up, so I have 1 partitioned 160 GB disc (with the OS on one partition) and a 2nd 160 GB disc as back up.

My concern is the raid. Do I simply go into the bios and disable the raid setting or is there something else I should be aware of?

I can't tell you how many hours I've searched for this advice and then I thought of you guys on here (shame on me ).

Any advice VERY much appreciated!

Riad0 is striped data, so you'd have to copy across all of the data first before turning off the raid, otherwise you won;t be able to access the data

Re: Raid help and advice!

Assuming you've already saved your data, then yes disable the raid and Vista should see two independent disks.

Yep, all data is backed up in duplicate with really important stuff in QUADRUPLECATE (I'm a bit sad like that )

So do I change bios to disable raid, alter to boot from CDrom and then reboot with Vista disc in - that simple?
