Cool Little bit of help required please!

A little bit of help required please guys if you`d be so kind.
I`ve got a Lappy running vista home and trying to connect to a Linksys wireless router.
Everytime my client tries to connect she gets the message " The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".
This has only started happening since we installed a Linksys wireless usb adapter in her daughters pc to the same wireless router, her daughter is running xp pro.
Any quick fixes for this please? Thanks in advance and some rep points up for grabs.
Cheers.
Neil.

EDIT!:: Before you ask, the network connection says it is disabled but if i try to connect to my netgear wireless router on xp pro at home, it connects first time.

I take it you mean remove the wireless adapter from network settings or do you mean scratch the whole lot? Cheers jellybaby.

Re: Little bit of help required please!

could be a number of things... subnet, ip scope, wireless encryption settings (WEP, WPA, WPA2)...

Go through the manual of the linksys and it will tell you what you need to do.

Re: Little bit of help required please!

I mean going into network connections and removing that access point and starting again, as in finding the network and entering the WPA/WEP key.
Only thing is can't remember how to get to them off hand.....

Ok Cheers you and Bender, going round to the house tomorrow, thought myself it might be a security key issue. I`ll let you know. Thanks anyway.
Neil.

Re: Little bit of help required please!

To remove the network as Jellybaby says you need to go into Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center (US bad spelling!), then click on "manage wireless networks" the click on the SSID in question to select it, then click on the remove button at the top of the screen. Then you should try and connect to the SSID again and it will ask you for the password. If you keep getting this then there is another problem. I have Vista and the only time I get the problem you describe is when I change the wireless security settings on my router.
