Buying a new tower computer

Try buidlng your pc yourself its rather easy, can also turn out to be cheaper my is dual core with 3gb ram 7300 graphic MSI Gigabit mobo and all that was around £100 and is good enough for using mp3's

Purely for the hell of it, I just worked out what the current parts in my system have cost me over the years [some bits I've had a while, some bits are brand new] & got a bit of a surprise. I estimate about ~£997 [not including the various seperate delivery charges, or monitors, keyboard, etc]. Anyone thinking of gettting in to self-builds should be warned: Yes, it can be cheaper, but as you learn more you can find yourself wanting the better parts, & justifying their cost when you're only buying 1 thing [or a few] at a time, which can end up costing you more in the long run.

I dont buy new till I can sell a machine. My last upgrade cost me -£50 yes thats means I was in pocket lol

"sell a machine"? Vot are zees strange vords you speak? Seriously though, I think I'd have trouble parting with my computer bits; I never know when I might need them [in case something fails, etc]. There's also the fact that whilst I can put systems together, I'm absolutely hopeless as a salesman. Whataver that je ne c'est quois is that some people have that enables them to persuade other people to pay for their services or buy from them, I just don't have it.

I know exactly what you mean, infact i've still got a 12gb hdd i pulled from something around somewhere

I did throw a few bigger bits out (Mainly parts for cases i no longer have) but i've still got some surplus parts kicking about.

a few sub-GB HDDs [not sure how many still work]
4 graphics cards [1 PCI Voodoo 3, 3 AGP Radeons]
~8 or 9 mobos [3 or 4 486, 1 Super7 (K6-2), 1 P2 (Celery 233), 2 socket A/462, 1 AM2] [none of that currently in use]
& that's just what I can think of off the top of my head, there's more than that though.
