Frankly BT might be a better option, depends on how you use your connection, how good a connection you can get, and how you use your telephone. The dig at cable company promises is I imagine a dig about how Virgin Media love to blow sunshine up our hindmosts while being the same minimal investment in anything company they always have been with the added bonus of a PR budget that would make ntl and Telewest green with envy.
Not calling it marketing as it's an insult to legitimate marketing people to associate them with the fiction that VM come out with.
