vm & Rapidshare
Are virgin media limiting speed to rapidshare?
As i can only seem to download at around a max of 120-200 KB/s sometimes only around 50KB/s from rapidshare and i have a prem account and rapidshare say they aint limiting anything.
i have 20mb internet, no firewalls, and it's just not this pc as it does it on all of them
I can download fast from other websites so its not a connection issue

Re: vm & Rapidshare
Just tested using DownThemAll, and I maxed out my 4mb connection. No problems in Birmingham.

Re: vm & Rapidshare
Might be something to do with VM's routing I know VM don't throttle http traffic as MS site would be slow as well using the same port 80,

I believe that is why some You Tube Streams struggle

Re: vm & Rapidshare
At 2am in the morning (when my 20mb line actually works) I only get around 400KB/s on rapidshare premium acc aswell, if im really lucky i get 550-600.
I test quite a few of the rs mirrors & they all seem the same roughly.
Yet megaupload/microsoft downloads are way above that when I try them at the same time.
I use the rs download manager.

its rapidshare, because I download from them a lot with my premium, I have 10mb, the max speed I get from microsoft is 1.2mb/s, from rapidshare I get 700kb/.s but sometimes it goes down to 200kb/s, so you just do 5 links each downloading at 200kb/s, so its not really that bad but I would say its something to do with rapidshare

Re: vm & Rapidshare
yh, it's to do with RS. Speed depends on what server of theirs your downloading from. But just leave a few files on download and it should be good.

Re: vm & Rapidshare
Suppose if rapidshare are limiting your premium, I have a spare account you could test to see if download speed changes
