Question Old Modem

My modem is over 8 year old now and I was wondering if the performance was still okay. It's a CULS Model No 60194E-A12 Reason I ask is quite often I lose connection and have to do the usual switch off-on routine to get things going again. Asked the helpline once before but they said everything was ok from their end. Connection goes from modem through Wireless-G WRT54G router.
Just curious as the modem is probably the oldest piece of electronics I have in the house!

Is this a Virgin modem?

If so please do the following.

Post what modem you have and your power levels from your config pages of your modem. The should be a sticker on the bottom saying what model.

Open a browser and in the address bar put> 192.168.100.1 password and username are both root if required.

What I want you to post is the Downstream and the Upstream plus what model the modem is for me thanks.

DO NOT POST YOUR MAC ADDRESS OR SERIAL NUMBER

Re: Old Modem

60194E-A12 is an Ambit 100 or 120, probably 120 so introduced in late 2002 pictures here

Are you on 20Meg?

Re: Old Modem

I would call Tech Support and see about getting a new modem especially if you are on a size L package as that modem will struggle to achieve it optimum performance.

Tech Support is open 24/7 on the numbers below.

For help with your TV or Phone and for Broadband Technical Support:

Call Product Support/Faults on 151 option 3 from your Virgin Media Phone. It's absolutely free.

Or call 0845 454 1111 from any other phone line.

Re: Old Modem

Looks like the ambit 120. Are these still in wide use?
What's the general opinion on them.

Rather old and tired and not truly capable of keeping up with the faster speeds now available, they had 512kb when that was issued, ring Tech Support on the number above and get it swapped.
