I did say Liverpool would be the last one to get done, and it's looking that way.

Maybe VM are saving.... The Best 'till Last. Hang in there, Baguley was only finished to-day I'm sure you can't be far behind.

So I need a New Modem to get 10MB?

Great news!

You actually don't need a modem upgrade.
We've looked at your current modem specification and it'll deliver the new speed perfectly.
If you want to keep it then thats up to you, I only work for them and thats my advice above

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

Well i bit the bullet and upgraded to a bb modem from rock solid stb connection. I have the upgrade but it is terribly slow. had trouble and had to sort it myself as the bloke that fitted modem couldn't help much. Pc would not release the ip. Laptop worked right away and was geting fast speeds but the desktop pc would not have it at all Tinkered with every setting i could get at and now it is crawling. but working

Give it til tomorrow see what happens

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

OK. The upgrade seems to be nearly finished, so are there still any members still waiting for their turn and feeling all alone?

Let us know if you are still waiting and if you want us to keep the supporters club going.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer

Still waiting in Sheffield. In Telewest days it was one of the latter areas to be upgraded to broadband and their estimates were months out so not too hopeful of them making end of summer. As soon as it's upgraded I'll be able to ring up and get rid of this 7 year old motorola surfboard modem .

I told they would swap it for you.

If you want to recycle the old one then drop it in at your local recycling centre next time you go to the tip.

There's some serious carbon footprinting involved in a lot of such recycling, it probably makes sense to just bin it. Not that this will be VM's reasoning, it's just convenient for them this way.
