Indeed.
However you can bet he will be back trying to prove he has not been faking it.

Re: I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?
Quick mention, Manchester is a EuroDOCSIS area so the equipment and modems could, in theory, do 51Mbit.
In practise...

Re: I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?
I have a friend who claims he is on the 50Mbps trial. He sent me his modem config on the 27th July.
Quote:
Cable Modem Operation Configuration Network Access :
Allowed Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 51200000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 1536000
Maximum Upstream Channel Burst : 1800
Maximum Number of CPEs : 1
Modem Capability : Concatenation Enabled, Fragametation Enabled, PHS Disabled
|
I have no reason not to believe him, but who knows. He lives in Aldershot, London if thats of any help. He also quoted to me when I asked him what tier he was on first time I asked:
Quote:
50mbit - 3gb limit between 4pm and midnight
|
He's just sent me his config again while typing this message and its back on 20Mbps, so it was only a short trial.
I've attached an image. Think of it what you will.

Doesn;t really matter what the docsis is as it'll only go as fast as the modem will allow.
From Ambits own webste the eurodocsis modem's specs are http://www.ambitmicroglobal.com/imag...m_ds_v1.4_.pdf

Re: I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?
I do occasionally get 25mb/s out of my modem, but then again mine does have go faster stripes and an extra green light that says "turbo" ... the turbo light is'nt always on though.
