I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?
Hi,
I was downloading some large files on wednesday, when all of a sudden my internet was disconnected?
So I did the usual thing unplug the modem for 2 mins and then plugged the power pack back in and still I had no ready light?
So I unplugged again and then un screwed the socket that connects to the modem to the brown box outside, again left for the 2mins roughly and then plugged the power back in and w00t+ my internet was back online.
So I started to download again and WTF my program called GrabIT I use to download files from Newsgroups was showing speeds of 5436 kps and my ETA for the files to be complete was 45mins, the file/s size was well over 8Gb.
SO like my title says is anyone else getting this speed?
I have noticed that it does go back to to 20Mb at peak times but come 12 o'clock I get the 50Mb again.
AWESOME!!!
Also I live in Manchester, on the Baguley Exchange.
Dan

Password/Username = root

Type that IP address in the address of your browser, when it prompts you for a username and password they are both "root" without the quotes. When you have logged in, look for a link saying "operation configuration" and copy and paste the contents.
If you were on 50mb it would say 51200000/1536000 (I think )

Re: I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?
Ok cool i'll do it when I get home @ work at the moment.
But I was getting well over 5000kps on my download, it was awesome.
Also I have 4 m8's who are both on 20Mb connection and they where saying to me that there Internet seemed faster than usual and went to Robin Walker and did the speed test and pasted me there results from the site and the 4 lines had something similar to this.

Re: I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?
It's an erroneous reading.....
Mainly due to the fact that the DOCSIS 2 modems can't get that high, the 50Mb trials are all on DOCSIS3

Re: I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?
Well all I know is that I when I usually download I get roughly 2400 kps but off peak times for the last 2 days I am getting between 4000 - 5200 kps.

Re: I have 50Mb.. does anyone else?
ok log into the mode as it has been suggested and go to operating config and post what it says for downstream and upstream data rate
what server are you using? it is possible that it was just compression on the line
