Install - Time Warner modem

if any one could help, im trying to install a newer webstar cable modem. the person time warner sent could not install the device, for he states the computer needs some drivers he does not have. i have looked for the drivers in the scientific atlanta website and have had no luck with what they offer. my question is will this set up process work for me as well?

Hi there and to the forums.

Does the modem not have an ethernet socket on it ?
If you could use that you will not need any drivers.

Just turn off your modem and PC. Connect ethernet cable from Pc to modem.
Boot up modem, wait about one minute.
Then boot up PC.
Launch your web browser and it should redirect you to the registration page.

What model is the modem ?

If however you choose to use the usb connection you'll find the correct drivers at this link.

But definitely better to use the ethernet as Halcyon said

I assume this means the Webstar modems Virgin use are the same as those Time Warner use?

guys, please remember that the OP isn;t in the UK and so isn;t using VM equipment

hey thanks for the welcome and the help you guys, i'll try your advise and let you know how it went. it really bugs me that the installer didnt compleate the job and this is actually a favor for friend im no computer wiz but ill read up on forum topics and help with what i can. you guys rock
