Tarquin, thats great thanks for doing that. Anyone else who is travelling by car etc. if you want to offer a seat it might be an idea to post in this thread. I would warn though (and no disrespect here to anyone) if you are travelling alone I wouldn't recommend picking someone up you don't know for safety reasons; however if you are going with a friend or partner and have a spare seat it would be a much safer situation.

Woah what happened to my rep? it was only half that at the beginning of the weekend and I haven't had any notifications of rep added.
Anyway I have a lot to do so I will get back to you all tonight.

but see the website announcements vb3.7 thread. A forum software upgrade has revised the rep counters. Will probably change again as it needs to be reset.

If I could be there I would. Unfortunately it's just not possible if I want to keep my job! You guys and gals will have to represent me. Do me proud!

Re: Virgin Media Phorm Webwise Adverts [Updated: See Post No. 1, 77, 102 & 797]
An idea just occurred to me. Currently, if you put your details into the form below, I've got a script which writes a basic complaint letter to post to your MP...
http://www.dephormation.org.uk/letters/
I could probably do something similar for a Data Protection Act Section 11 instruction to a given telco data controller (eg, enter your name, address, select telco from a drop down list BT/Virgin/TalkTalk, click generate, and print).
Can anyone oblige with the data controller name and address details for BT/Virgin/TalkTalk?
Pete.

Why not profile regular conversations too - build voice recognition + profiling software into mobiles and keep the mobile's microphone open so it can record and profile your off-air conversations too.

Not far off with that. Mobile phone profiling with word recognition has already been proposed and GPS tracking is already being trialled and it's been used to spot peoples shopping habits for a "study".
Cars are being tracked when they move around cities and RFID tags are already being built-in to some purchases to track the movements of purchasers.
One company has developed an RFID so small that thousands of them can be sprayed onto a car mixed in with the normal paint so that the car can be tracked.
As you might expect, all of these modern wonders are being promoted as safety and security enhancing.
