Sorry if this one has been answered and I have looked at the upgrade schedule and still don't understand. I live in PETERBOROUGH and have the 4mb package ...... should I now be able to get 10mb ?

I've unplugged and rebooted several times and still 4mb.
Is my STB okay for 10mb ? It is a SAMSUNG SMT-2110C.

I've just checked on the virgin media site and it says that your STB won't be able to deliver the speed. You'll have to ring them up and tell them. They'll replace it for you, with a new cable modem free of charge.

You will get 6Mb max through a Samsung STB, you need to call Tech Support on 151 to sort out getting a Stand Alone Cable Modem.

18 areas still TBC. Quite a lot of work to get it finished by 'Summer'.

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Assuming six areas a month are upgraded, unless Virgin speed up, then that leaves three more months after July until everyone's upgraded. So fits in with previous, end of September, estimate.

The finish date is for the end of the 3rd quarter of the year so supposedly finished by October.

Here in Poole with my splendid new modem, rebooted and router re-educated, I'm getting about 9Mbps on average, at peak time too!
Excellent!
