Re: Differece betweeen xbox ..
Probably means the core version (arcade). Comes without a hard drive. I don't see the point of those to be honest.
But with you being a lawyer I'm sure you could work out the differences yourself.

Re: Differece betweeen xbox ..
This is what I found on a search...
360 - 20GB HDD. Can play most original XBOX games.
Elite - 120GB HDD. Black. Can play most original XBOX games.
Arcade - NO HDD. Cannot play any original XBOX games.

Re: Differece betweeen xbox ..
Arcade is the most basic. Lack of hard disk means you need to buy a memory card if you want game progress saved. It really is the cheap and nasty version and will end up costing you to add on bits if you get into gaming.
Elite is as it says the best version, but most expensive to buy initially. It could save you money if you get into it. The wireless controller and large Hard disk are the biggest plus points.
Core is the mid range version, and for most people quite adequate, albeit with a wired controller, and smaller hard disk.
I believe all xbox 360 versions have hdmi outputs, the elite includes the hdmi lead, not sure about the rest.

New games on arcade - presumably you are talking of download versions? All the xbox systems can do that, but you'll need to be subscribed to xbox live on all versions. Download games are often comparatively short things compared to the blockbusters you see like halo, GTA, COD, etc.

Re: Differece betweeen xbox ..
Isn't Core the most basic (no HDMI output, no memory unit)?
Arcade next, then Premium, then Elite?

Premium / Pro, not Core
The Core was the original basic one, with no HDD etc. plus a wired controller. It has since been replaced by the Arcade (which also has no HDD, but does at least come with a wireless controller & a memory card).
Arcade - no HDD, no headset, has a 256MB memory card & a wireless controller. No use if you're gonna download stuff, & has no backwards compatibility (as that requires the HDD). Only comes with a composite video cable.
Premium / Pro - 20GB HDD, wired headset, wireless controller, composite video cable, component video cable.
Elite - 120GB HDD, wired headset, wireless controller, composite video cable, component video cable, HDMI cable, matte black finish.
Yep, all three (Arcade, Premium/Pro, Elite) now have HDMI, although only the Elite comes with an HDMI cable.

Anyway, I'd say...
Ignore the Arcade, & get a Premium / Pro.
No real need IMO for the Elite, unless you plan on downloading *loads* of XBL Arcade games, or making a lot of use of the Video Marketplace / Xbox Originals downloads.
The 20GB HDD you get with the Premium is more than enough for game saves & a good few Arcade games.

Agreed - that's why I went for the Premium over the Elite. I thought if in the future I needed more space I could always get a bigger HDD but I doubt I ever will.
In any case, I much preferred the white unit over the black. Looks nicer in the lounge if I'm honest.

Re: Differece betweeen xbox ..
I went for the elite, as it had all the cables and every thing i needed to play with my mates on line.
Yes it was £100 for than the next one down but the 120GB HDD is £130ish.

How much of the hard drive do you use on average?
