(Read Joglynne's post here and the replies.)

There's apparently been engineering work on your UBR this weekend with, if I understand it right, a resegmenting which ought to improve the congestion.
Try rebooting your modem and if the connection is no better, turn it off and try again tomorrow.

:fingers crossed:

I turn it off every night, so if anything ever does happen and they don't let me know, I'll soon see it. For example, right now I'm running at full blast, and it's excellent, just like it should be. How long it will last I don't know.

I used to get about 45 min's of top speed every night, but by the time all the kids get home from school, and a few thousand computers are turned on, mine goes down the pan. I have noticed a massive improvement in that respect. For example It last a lot longer before it slows right down to less than 56k.

Good work VM team, keep it up!
I can't agree more. Virgin on the whole including mobile phones and TV have been very good. It's just the broadband that's taking month after month with every promise under the sun passing by.

(I only say this as you keep quoting KBS)
I get confused because when I use Mozilla and it's down loader in quotes differently to the on line speed tests, but I know what I should be getting in either case.

When I see the 4096 and I'm getting like 211, or 69, or 101 I know it's going badly.

Also when I down load and I usually get 450 but it's coming down at 16 then 200 then 300 then 5 then 21 then 400. within a few seconds I can see with my own eyes.

I just quote the figures from what even I was using at the time I was pulling my hair out.

After all, it's been Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday this week, all very very poor service. Today is like new and nothing ever went wrong.
