Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
We had virtually no internet access a couple of days ago in the Stormont area and a call to tech support on Wednesday resulted in an engineer's visit this morning (Friday). (Good service I reckon) He said that there had been technical problems in Belfast this week, or at least in our area, and that they had only been finally resolved this morning. Certainly our system is back up and running and is apparently at full speed, or so my daughter tells me, as I'm not at home at the moment. But he wasn't able to give any indication of when the 10Mb upgrade would take place. He reckoned we'd know before he would!

Re: Virgin 4Mb to upgrade to 10Mb February - Summer
Internal email saying complete switch over from 4-10mb may now not be until September due to slow start and technical issues. No mention of what areas delayed and new timescales.
I wouldnt expect update to the online schedule as everyone we asked said no decisions had been made on at least 50% of the remaining TBC's.!
Spin a bottle anyone ?

You'd be crying too if you were paying an extortionate amount of money for a shitty service.

Why are you paying for what VM can't give you?
Send VM a letter by registered post with all the complaints you've made and the promises that the problems will be fixed but that haven't improved your service and give them a date (maybe a few weeks) by which time you expect them to have completed the work.
And if it's not done, then you'll expect to be regraded to 2Mb.
Should VM confirm that you've not been supplied with the service you have been paying for then you've probably got grounds to sue them in the small claims court.
Crying over it is just a waste of time.

Listen, if no one complained in public we'd all still be paying £50 for dial-up.

I'd estimate that the number of users who either got VM to fix a broken connection, or improve their download speed or reduce their monthly charges by complaining in an internet forum (other than their own, of course) to be approaching, erm, none.
Let VM know what's wrong, what's been attempted to fix the problem (and failed) and a sensible time limit to provide the contracted service and, if they fail then they'll have a very few poor argument to refuse a price reduction.
Alternatively you can insult me for offering a suggestion and hope your problems sort themselves out...

Which was seriously carp!
Very pleased to hear that VM have finally sorted out your connection.
Do you think that would have happened if all you'd done was moan on CableForum?

No, i had to make a report 3 times to the ISPA and write letters of complaint endlessly.

If ur waiting for the 4-10mb upgrades then at the end of ur day wait ur turn, Virgin have better things to focus on like over subscription problems.
Keeping on at them wont make them go any faster to do the 4-10mb upgrades.
