I've taken a few photo's round here, mostly just off the rainworth cycle track, theres also a path(very sandy) that goes off jubilee way before you get to the golf course, goes down the side of the sand quarry and then into the woods. I've walked through there and come out where the main Rainworth roundabout is.

Have a look at a few of mine(take with a Finepix S6500)

Go along the Rainworth Bypass from Mansfield till you get to the first set of lights, turn left there and follow that road right to the end, that's where the colliery used to be, you can also get there by bike from Oak Tree, there's some good cycle routes round that area.

Re: Pics with new camera

Yup as nidge said, bypass to lights then left etc, but I have never got there that way I always go up by the quarry which is 2 mins from mine and I tend to walk (not having a bike ATM)
If on foot\bike follow the cycle path by the quarry hugging the fence till you get to a large "T" junction take the path left (largest as there are 2) follow that to the end about a mile or so, turn left and then find a turning on the right IIRC about 500yrd on the right that will take you to the slabbed area.

Edit**

If you fancy a walk up that way with me at any time (weekends) give me a shout and we can arrange something.
