STM beyond 9pm?
Have noticed this week that despite not turning the computer on before 9pm, I appear to be being capped to 1mb after exactly 800mb.
I checked the speed at around 9:10pm at start of the download, and was getting pretty much 4mb consistantly (BB sizeL) , then after exactly 800mb It drops to virtually bang on 1mb and stays there. Haven't been up late enough to see if it comes off after 5 hours.
I'm sure there could be a number of explanations, but the timing and resultant download speed does seem rather odd. Has there been some unannounced change in traffic management times?
Have noticed identical behaviour since Monday this week.... gutting

As far as I'm aware the download limits have not changed nor have the stm times, 4.00pm to 9.00pm, but to be on the safe side I wouldn't start your downloads before 9.30pm. If you continue to get throttled after 9.00pm your going to have to face the nightmare of a phone call to India, at your expense.
PS One bit of good news, I read in another thread this evening that VM are abolishing their call charges to the BB helpline in a couple of months.

Ha! Funny you should say that... just had the experience... not at all good. You know things aren't going well when you give your phone number and suddenly your name is Gary (when you're not called Gary!). Gave up after about 1 minute. Total waste of time. I wonder if Gary will be paying the bill? :P
Speed currently rock solid at 1mb... think I'll have a late one and see what time the speed comes back... ~ 2.30 am I recon

A couple of weeks ago I rang up India to check if I was being stm,ed as my speed was down to 1mb and its normally a steady 4mb. It was ridiculous she would not tell me! "I'm only asking if I have been traffic managed because my speed is down to 1mb" I can laugh now, but she said "As its Friday night and its busy your area [Brighton] has been traffic managed" at this stage I put the phone down,[christ- I was paying to be told this crap ]
At just after midnight my speed went back to 4mb, in the morning I rang CS and spoke to someone in the UK who told me, "she must have been a little confused", a little confused?, she must have had a complete frontal lobotomy. When my next bill came in I had £5 credit off my phone bill, I can only assume it was for this fiasco. If you are stm,ed why not send out an e-mail just to make people aware, it cant be to difficult

A one-line message (including your VM username) in the TS newsgroup (8am-10pm) will normally confirm if your connection has been STM'd.
Dunno why you folks love calling India so much...

Re: STM beyond 9pm?
for me anyway, this 4pm-9pm is a load of rubbish, have been shaped before 4pm, once at around 3:20pm and regularly after 9pm. My advice would be to not download anything big until between the hours of 12am and 3pm. I don't get shaped anymore and I don't lose out by not downloading for those few hours either.

Re: STM beyond 9pm?
I know, thew seem to be clamping down on mass uploaders/downloader but 800mb isnt much though.
