Micro SD Memory help For Mobile Phone

I cant get my brain round all the memory types.

I have a Samsung G600 and it came with 512Mb of microSD memory.

I want to upgrade this and I noticed its a bit cheap.

I found this but not sure if it is compatible with teh phone, not sure all teh extra letters HC (high capacity)

I want at least 4Gb cause its so cheap, and 4 sound probably more than enough space

can any of you guys help? hardware is not my forte

ik

Re: Micro SD Memory help For Mobile Phone

Unless your phone supports HC SD (which you should find in manual) then you can't use it.

After looking online the max memory your phone supports is an upto 2gb micro SD Card

microSD cards go up to 2GB.

microSDHC (High Capacity) cards go up to...8GB at the moment, with larger ones probably on the way.

Not all devices which take microSD cards will also take microSDHC cards. They must be microSDHC compatible.

According to the Samsung Mobile website, the G600 will only take normal microSD, up to 2GB.

http://uk.samsungmobile.com/mobile/SGH-G600/spec

The card you linked to is an 8GB microSDHC card.

Tried a quick Google, in case the HC ones do work in it, but didn't have much luck in finding anything (just found a few similar, but unanswered, queries from someone else).

Then again, the Samsung site may be wrong...

The Nokia site says the Nokia N95 takes microSD cards of up to 2GB... yet I have a 4GB microSDHC card in mine which works perfectly, & I know that it will happily also use 6GB & 8GB cards too...

ik, you have 7-10 days with which you can return any item bought online under the distance selling regulations. Buy from svp as their returns team are ace if it don't work than you'll be a 1st class stamp worse off.

edit - 4gb cards listed as accessories http://www.foneshop.com/mobile-acces...sung-G600.html
