Re: BNP Wives.... (or even hubbies)
Question.
Is having concerns about immigration regarded as racism?

There is no debate. You just restate your opinion. I didn't believe it the first time around nor will I believe it the second. You didn't read nor understand the first words of my post. How can there be any debate?

I didn't read beyond the first sentence as it didn't offer any encouragement to do so.....

I don't think it is. But I do think you can tell a lot about whether a person expressing his or her concern is racist or not, in the manner in which they express their concerns.

No, but some use that as a cover to be racist, the BNP do this. They tie their racism up with concerns about immigration or "britishness" so if you call them racist they claim "We're being called Racist because we are British" in order to discredit their accusers

If its regarding immigrants from one particular place, yes, if it's a general concern with no interest as to where they came from which can be backed up by reasoned debate (no "I'm not a racist, I hate all foreigners) the no.

Depends on why they voted for them, I would not say that it automatically makes them racist at all. I would say they voted for a racist party however, one which has denied the holocaust and many of their councilors kicked off their jobs for convictions relating to racism.
If they are happy to vote for a party like then they can go ahead.

Why?
They have been a disaster when ever they have been elected to a council seat, often being kicked out for incompetence at best (one voted against his own bill after misunderstanding how to vote because he didn't understand a couple of words) and racist/violent crimes (one smashed a bottle over a asians head, another put **** though the letterbox of a Asian family).
Of course, some of their councilors resigned after becoming aware of the racism in the BNP. So credit to them. Others resigned recently after their homes were broken into, as they were suspected of challenging Nick Griffins position as head of party.
Then you have the gems of the party such as their leader who: - Published a anti-Semitic magazine, akin to the type in 1930's germany which stereotypical images of jews stealing money etc etc
- Said the Jewish population invented the holocaust to gain sympathy, he has since changed it to "they over-blew it to gain support for Israel" (also showing a lack of knowledge over the founding of Israel). He now avoids the subject altogether
- Said, despite the police arresting and convicting a white man, that a series of rapes had been committed by asian gangs. The police had already mentioned several times this was untrue, he continued anyway.
- Turned up at the funeral of a murdered child despite the parents request that he did not. He was trying to use the incident to gain political support as the BNP were claiming it was a racial incident (the accused was black)
One of their members, the head of the finance who also thinks up a lot of BNP economic policy said that there was no black mozart to back his claim that black people were stupid and should not be allowed benefits because "they are likely to grow up and mug you" .
So I honestly want to know why? I honestly do not think your racist because you vote for them, I can see why people who are angry at the political process and the three main parties are angry, but what on earth makes you ignore all the evil the BNP does?

I am not trying to 'fire and brimstone' you, I am doing it to them and wondering why people vote for them despite the above. I simply listed actions they did and I am not responsible if you think it is negative because that is what the BNP is about, I just want to understand why the BNP is popular.

Re: BNP Wives.... (or even hubbies)
Its not about making the right choice at the right time, politics and the polices they make last a long long time and affect a lot of people not always for the best, torries selling everything we owned pushing interest rates to 17%, labour sending our lads in to war for weapons that don't exist and in the process killing 100's.
I vote for the BNP in the East Ward of Grimsby as a little voice just nagging at the backs of the 'sit back and do nowt' politicians we have in this ward, no I am not looking at the wider picture so sorry if I offend anyone, I am just a dude tring to look after my little bit of ground..

Well I don't agree but fair enough, I would like to point out that I was not trying to suggest that you support those actions. I Just dislike the BNP intensely and like to let people know what they have done.

Re: BNP Wives.... (or even hubbies)
We all have opinions and I hope we can respect each others, age and hindsight are a great tool but just a little to late to make a difference.
On the level playing ground that we call a democracy we will always need people pulling and pushing right at the very edge regardless of personal taste and preference, it's the only way it can be fair with the most voted for winning, right or wrongly..

Whilst a wonderful theory, it can go wrong in reality

Just watching a documentary on Sky One about women married to BNP members so I thought I'd ask here.
There's a woman on it who requested a white european midwife for her labour. Turns out she was given a black carribean one and requested a white one again, to deliver her baby. When asked why by the interviewer she said "I have nothing against her, but im white and i wanted a white woman delivering my baby" (or words very similar). I'd have thought that the last thing a mother would be worrying about when delivering her baby would be the colour of the midwife. does anyone else share her sentiments?

Not another witch hunt to find out peoples opinion on this subject, so they can be branded a racist and hounded out!! Ooops looks like ive let the cat out the bag with that remark.
