Baguley 6 UBR upgrade
Thought I'd post for anyone on baguley 6 and having awful latency problems. After complaint and complaint and several tickets on the newsgroups I have now been told that a network upgrade is scheduled for mid march. I am assuming a network upgrade means a new UBR and the dreaded bagu6 resegmented. I don't have the ticket number though (whether that means I have been sold a story or not I don't know!!!)

Re: Baguley 6 UBR upgrade
i wouldnt hold your breath for a re segmentation of the UBR !
VM have a nasty habit of promising network upgrades that never seem to come.
Although, i hope in this case i am proved wrong and your service improves

Re: Baguley 6 UBR upgrade
and runc4 , tonight is just absolute crap. my upload is faster than my download, and yes i did use speedtest to try it. but the speed on my usenet bears this out.
the fastest i seem to be getting is 500kb. it's been getting steadily worse over the past couple of months, first 18meg and then 12-14meg and recently less than 10meg. but tonight is a new record (not one that i want). will be moving within the next 6-8 weeks and if things don't improve then i'm sad to say (as before the 20 roll-out it was fab) i'll have to consider if i want to take my services with me. as for the money i'm paying i don't feel like i'm getting value for my hard earned money (and working with landfill sites is hard work).

getting speeds this low on the 20mb service is ridiculous. post your downtream and upstream modem info here and someone will take a look at them for you and determine whether it is your modem or something else at fault. go to http://192.168.100.1 and copy and paste downstream and upstream info on here.

yeh looks ok to me similar in comparison to mine, except your 2 up on upstream power level and 3 down on downstream power level in comparison so it isn't your modem. have you looked into downgrading to 2 or 4mb and seeing if you get better speeds on that as the poll that i created a not long ago on here suggested that most people have problems on 20mb and not many people have problems on the lower tiers. see for yourself http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/12...bout-your.html

Re: Baguley 6 UBR upgrade
click on the connection link at the top of the forum page. it will show you your hostname.
For instance mine is cpc4-harg1-0-0-cust733.leed.cable.ntl.com which means my UBR is harg1
