Should be able to. Even though it is not used, the port is powered.

Re: Can you charge a ipod through the v+ box
What you could do is get an old USB hub plug that in to a power source (or V+) and plug your USB chargeable devices into that.

Re: Can you charge a ipod through the v+ box
It SHOULD work, theoretically... but if it didnt, then thats baffling!
Ive plugged stuff in there before, and it always transmitted power.
Might try and charge a phone with it...

Well, me GF's phone lit up with it... and let me select which mode to put it in (Nokia Mode/Data Transfer etc)

Re: Can you charge a ipod through the v+ box
The voltage from the USB will be ok, but there probably isn't enough current.

Re: Can you charge a ipod through the v+ box
I suspect it isn't giving out a high current. I tried charging my phone via USB on the v+, and it took over 3 hours to get to 90% charge. It normally takes an hour to to 100%.

Re: Can you charge a ipod through the v+ box
Hi Guys,
The reason the ipod will not charge is because the ipod needs the data pins to be active on the usb port as well as the power pins in order to enter charging mode.
As the V+ usb port is disabled, I am guessing the data pins are inactive.
Other devices that do not require the data pins to charge such as mobile phones should be fine.
Gareth.

Re: Can you charge a ipod through the v+ box
Well, while you can't apparently charge the ipod with a v+, you can apparently charge it using one white onion, two cups of any sports/power drink, your USB cable and a screwdriver.
