I'm thinking of buying a Philips DVDR 3570 H DVD recorder, can anyone tell me if this is a digital or analogue unit??

Thanks

to the forum. Looking at the google links to it, I would say, most definitely digital. I will take a bow and wait to be corrected

Re: Philips DVDR 3570 H

Hi there, its own tuner is actually analogue I am afraid, if that is the info you are after. Oddly enough Philips don't seem to point that out anywhere except in the manual!
I bought one about a week ago and am very happy with it so far. If you have a digibox it should be able to connect to it via a scart if you happen to be in a non analogue signal region. I live in a pretty non digital area ... I am not totally convinced we're ever going to go all digital really but anyway ...
Not had a chance to write to dvd yet but HDD function is brilliant.
Lots of other models out there ... this is very slim and the record/playback lights are so cool (of course that is not a serious buying point right ). Got progressive scan and comp video, pity we got a non SCART TV! (yeah, its really that old!). On our tv picture looks great even on SLP (low quality supposedly).

Hope that helps.

Re: Philips DVDR 3570 H

Yup analog, I have had the next one up to this with a 250gb drive for the last 10 months. Excellent machine although IMO the remote could have been a little better designed, the machine can be slow to boot and the menu system can be sluggish.

Re: Philips DVDR 3570 H

Yeah I'll second the slowness of the remote especially. Trying to set times, you can wait for it to scroll the digits round ... but only like 1 digit every 20 seconds! Far quicker to give yourself RSI and keep pumping the button!
