Unhappy disappearing email account

I have a recurring problem with email account; only happened since Telewest turned into Virgin.
I click on email icon next to 'home' icon on task bar and am taken immediately to "Microsoft Outlook" inbox, which tells me "no items to show". I've tried to find a link that takes me back to my normal email page but no luck so far. Previously I've done a 'system restore' and that's corrected things but now that's stopped working.
Any ideas what's happening or what I can do about it?
All I can do at present is go to my new mail via webmail but, of course, that does not have any of my old correspondence.

cheers

if you still have all your details from when you originally set up the account then you can create an account in microsoft outlook which will always connect to your original pop server

Smile Re: disappearing email account

rOOt, thanks for info. Followed link & got email back successfully.

Still mystified as to why it keeps disappearing; think that's 4 times in 6 months now.

Thanks again for advice

regards

Re: disappearing email account

Strange that it keeps disappearing, I've heard of mcafee change the pop settings to 127.0.0.1, is it possible you have security software removing your account settings in outlook? I must admit it is an odd one.
Anywho, glad your all sorted now
