D V D wont play
I have just bought an LCD tv, I have it working but i am unable to get my dvd player to work. The tv has built in free view .
On my old set i just connected a scart lead from the tv to the dvd player and all worked, but when i do the same to the new tv nothing happens. I can here the dvd spinning but im not getting any sound or picture. I have 2 scart sockets and tried them both . Again i connected back up to old tv to make sure the dvd is ok and yes thats ok. So am i doing something wrong , should i be connecting something else as well as the scart lead. Do dvds connect differantly to digital sets then the old sets. I have seen on the manual that theres a section marked up component in with leads comeing to and from it , has that got anything to do with it. when i normally switch the dvd on ( on old set ) i get a dvd image appear straight away . But nothing happens at all on new set. Any one any ideas please as how to get it to work.

What make/model is the DVD/TV? Where are your two scarts, DVD/Telly or both?

If it's not a DVD recorder then the aerial should go to the telly.
What make/model is the DVD player?

Re: D V D wont play
I can't find an online manual for your DVD unfortunately.
Check that the output from the DVD scart is matched with what the TV is expecting as input, is all I can suggest. The various options should be detailed in the manuals...
At the risk of being heretical, you may get more help at the specialist forum here...
Good luck!

Re: D V D wont play
Sorted i went down to the store i got it from and theres a button on the remote ( input ) i have to press that then a menu comes up on screen and you have to scroll down to what ever A V conection im pluged into ie AV 1 then it works , you then have to go back into the menu when you have finished the DVD and scroll back up to DTV to carry on watching the tv.
I spoke to a guy as well from LG help desk and he said you have to do this because you can connect many things to the TV and its ment to help stop over loading. Its something LG do to there sets.
Thanks for your help.
