NSLU2 with UnSLUNG Firmware just died...

I have (had) a NSLU2, upgraded the firmware a week ago to UnSlung v6.8 - all has been fine other than some funnies with creating user shares and them not appearing without a reboot of the SLUG.

Anyway, left the device on today for the first time and when I came home tried to connect to my shares and nothing. I could ping the device but that was it. Tried a reboot and the only lights I get are the ethernet nothing at all for the USB drive and nothing for the Status/Ready light.

Tried all the usual reset for 10 seconds etc. but nothing.

If I hadn't had it working last night I would have thought I'd bricked it during the upgrade but it has been fine.

I tried letting both the device and power supply cool down but it's still the same.

Any ideas? - I have a RMA number to return the device but if I don't have too I'd rather not.

Try booting it without the drives attached if it boots then then its something thats starting off your drive.

If it won't boot then then its unsling itself if it does boot then its something on your HDD thats trying to start and killing it.

If the bootloaders intact I believe its possible to force reflash it by catching it just before it actually trys to boot its firmware.

I did have a unslung NSLU2 for a while but unfortunately I wasn't using it much so flashed it back to stock firmware and gave my dad it.

Nah still doesn't boot without drives - thanks for suggestion though
CityLink are booked to pick it up tomorrow now and return for a refund
Just annoying cos it was working fine might just resort to leaving a PC on 24/7

I had a NAS caddy but it was to unstable, couldn't be bothered to spend money on another one so i just put a pci sata card in an old pc.

although I usually only run it when I want something off it.
