Re: illegal opperation

Check for virus / spyware.

Something somewhere corrupted - can you do a system restore to a safe point a few weeks ago?

Re: illegal opperation

Using Firefox isn't always the answer. For business I use a number of sites that rely on Activex type plugins or other bespoke stuff. It's IE or nothing for those

Indeed ...

IE isn't really a web browser, it's a MS Office application with web browsing capabilities.

There is no SP4 for XP? There isn't even an SP3 yet

Beautiful

But it is true that MSIE is the only real choice for using ActiveX (as found in my job also)

Sounds like a possible toolbar which has gone wrong maybe... try HijackThis to check for any browser hijacks maybe and go from there.

Good heavens are we up to SP4 on XP or have you got mixed up with (perhaps) windows 2K - that's at SP4? Anyway (like the rest of the clan have intimated) your should switch to Firefox as IE (whatever version) is a bag of hits (anag).

As for your problem could be corrupted files and/or malware.

Good luck and Si thee.
