The chips are 64Gbit [8GB], but you can have multiple chips in a device, so as the article says, 128GB flash devices should be possible.

I had a spectrum 48k, 20mins to load a game... 
I as a wee wee child i played them games for hours.
I would say its the spectrum 48k's fault i work in IT now

Not to mention the £400 for the A530 sidecar to put it in, I paid £298 for a 2x4Mb sticks. How about the Iomega drives, £99 for the drive and £12 for each 100Mb cartridge, I've still got the drive and over a dozen cartridges, just enough to fill to CD's.

You should have bought the Interface 1 and a microdrive, a whole 96k of storage per cartridge.

The use of these chips are more towards SSD's (solid state drive) in laptops where they replace the hard drive. There main benefit being no moving parts means lower power usage and lower vunerability to shocks.
32 and 64GB drives already exist i believe but cost a fortune!
Whilst we wait for the prices to come down hybrid hard drives are going to be more common which feature a 8GB or so flash drive paired to a normal 200GB hard drive.

Seeing as we're all being nostalgic..
I can remember (not so long ago) before Windows 95 was introduced, RAM (SIMM) memory was (on average) £30 a meg. Dependant upon what type of processor you had (386/486) determined how many SIMMS (minimum) you required. If you were lucky enough to have 4meg simms in your system then (by those standards) you had a real flying machine.
At least (dare I say it) that's one thing that Microsoft can actually be credited with and that's driving down the price of RAM (when Windows really 95 took off). Reckon if it wasn't for that, RAM could still be an expensive necessary evil that (even nowadays) can still fluctuate considerably from day to day. The problem is (now) you need loads of memory just to run the latest operating systems let alone any applications. 
Funnily enough I recently found some of the old 4 mag SIMMS in my scrap box - now seriously defunct - fond memories..!

My first computer was a Spectrum+, £99 from Curry's, bundled with a tape recorder, still got it!
I was as useless then as I am now at playing games so I used to hack the games and see what would happen.
I was in the motor trade at the time, one day we were having an open evening at the showroom, I wrote a program for the punters to play with which would work out the monthly payments for them, been writing programs ever since.

Mine was a Commodor C16 - which I've still got, in pristine condition and original packaging. Never know might be worth something in about a century or so. Just imagine Antiques Roadshow in the year 2215 - describing one of these, a bit like comparing a Victorian steam engine to a Modern day (top fuel) dragster
