Changes
It's got to the point now where Virgin Media have pushed me too far as they have many.
The reason I am leaving VM is that Broadband is too slow, last night i was loosing connection every 15 minutes and my 20mb Connection was not even 1/2 Meg. It's not only that, to ring them at 25p a minute for them to tell me to reboot my set top box and go into CMD is lining their pockets at my expense, they literally have me by the balls as i can't change providers unless i have a BT line, which means the TV package has to change as well, disrupting everything.
I wouldnt mind but the TV is just as bad, i am sat watching my fave programs when i get a system update message which stays on for 10 seconds, thats fine, but 2 minutes later its back and then the channel changes on its own, when that isnt happening the signal is breaking up causing most channels unwatchable.
I want to go to *be. They look like the leading competitors for future broadband, and O2 do amazing deals on their phones. And if its true that their Pro Package is going to be £22 then it saves me £15 a month on Broadband and I get twice the webspace, they dont charge you to get broadband fixed either.
Virgin need to get together and think about the problems and prices their customers face, surely they know from complaints that they are loosing custom, well they will be £120 less off per month soon and i wont recommend them to anyone.

Re: Changes
My Sky broadband gives me a consistent 9.2mbps for a tenner a month. Never had a drop out and the speed is always there.

Re: Changes
Just go ahead and take the plunge and do it.
I cancelled all services two weeks ago after ten years with Telewest and VM despite retentions asking is there 'anything at all' we can do to make you stay...etc etc.
had been through all this before so it was a great relief just to tell them that no, I wanted a service that worked, and that cost didn't really come into it, although it's nice to make a saving as detailed below.
The good thing is that the 30 days notice VM require is adequate to get BT in for your line, Sky in for the telly and Be booked and activated for the now much cheaper BE Pro. It was actually very easy.
The only thing that's taken some time has been going into various online shops and changing my e-mail address to a web based one, seeing as I will lose my blueyonder address. However once done, it's all very smooth.
I am hoping that finally having had enough, I will be able to give up searching through forums for advice and technical tips and/or checking the VM service status page to see what was causing consistently awful browsing speeds and gaming latency and packet loss.
All that and I will still be saving money.
Go for it, it's easy.

I'm tempted to ask how you can be certain it's the modem or Virgins fault that you have slowness.
