5.1 surround.

Right i'm looking for cheap surround speakers to go with my tv (http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx...1006&InMerch=1)

I've found these on ebuyer;

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132483

Are they any good? I'm not looking for cineman quality, just something better than the actual TV speakers.

Your telly is 8watts and your surround system is 15watts... its gonna be a little better, but I think you should be aiming for around 30watts upwards for a semi decent sound.

Just my 2$ thou

Re: 5.1 surround.

be careful buying surround speakers if you expect to be able to get dolby decoding - for example if your DVD player doesn't have a built in decoder, nor does the surround system, you will not get 'proper' surround sound.

My system ( a very old Cambridge Soundworks / Creative 5.1 ) has IIRC a 20W centre, 4 15W satellites & a 25W sub - fine for a small room, but any larger I think it would start to struggle - it may appear you get louder with the theoretical 105W, but the distance to the speaker has to be taken into account & a 15W sound effect from 12 feet away over your left shoulder, may not sound louder than the same 8W sound , directly ahead ....
