Sky HD - Price reduced for long serving customers.
Sky are doing an offer where the longer you have been a customers of theirs the bigger the discount you get on the Sky HD box.
If you have been a Sky TV customer for:
Up to 3 years: £279/€419 (saving you £20/€30)
Between 3 to 6 years: £249/€369 (saving you £50/€80)
Over 6 years: £199/€299 (saving you £100/€150)

Good news if you have stuck with Sky, that's one way of reducing retention costs without loosing the customer.

This is, IMO, a step in the right direction. While it's important to get new customers in, it's also important to keep existing customers happy. Something which too many companies forget. After all, it's likely to be the existing companies who are providing the money for the company to offer sweet deals to the newbies (even if not directly, they will be in some way).

Re: Sky HD - Price reduced for long serving customers.
Still curious as to why Sky charge £279 for a box when you can pick them up on ebay for about £170.

yep you can pick up an old out of date < SkyHD V4 box from Ebay for £179 but the New better versions on ebay are £279.
Its gonna depend if SKY try to give you an older slower box.
Luck of the draw probley. no ethernet port makes them not very future proof so I am waiting.

I thought there was only 1 model of HD box? The different ones on eBay seem to have upgraded hard drives fitted after manufacture.

Nope The HDD was made bye different manufactures and also have improved hard drives bye default but remained the same size of 300GB. V1 had real noisy hard drives for example compaired to this years V4 from Thompson again.
