not so sure this thread should be in entertaimment?? channel 4 tonight i think 10.30pm. are these kids being abused?? I think so. btw "Prussian Blue" is slang for the residue left by Zyklon-B in the Nazi concentration camp gas chambers.

We live in a democratic world with relatively free speech. Unforetunately, that also applies to people with nasty views such as those girls.

I'm surprised it's taken so long for a documentary to be shown about them here, they were making headlines in the USA about 2 or 3 years ago.

Personally, i don't see what the big deal is. All this media attention is merely giving them exactly what they're after; publicity.

Maybe this would be better in Current Affairs?

I enjoyed the program, I think it's great to get insights into the strange cultures and beliefs.

Anyone can say they are out of order etc, the mother's brainwashed them etc, is that comparable to sending your own kids to Sunday school? Ok, extreme I know but kids don't have a choice do they, and again to some it's just another form of brainwashing, just more acceptable.

Is it the racism that people don't like? When if racism was on a scale of 0 -10 would the avg be 3-5 for just about everyone, no one will ever get a score of 0-1? Just because racism is a label that is without any debate in today's society, anyone who says they ain't a racist has to be lying.

You can't call it brainwashing just because you don't like what the kids are being taught. Every parent chooses how to bring their children up. It is every parent's right and responsibility to do so.

Despite their on-camera protestations, I am not entirely convinced that the girls really did totally reject what their mother was telling them. They were far too complicit in things like signing CDs and are now apparently planning a European tour with her.
