Question BT Homehub Questions....

My friend (in a non NTL area) had BT Broadband, he set up a Wireless network and everything was working OK. Then they upgraded to the Home Hub thing.

PC 1 is connected via Network Cable (as Hub is on Desk).
PC 2 & PC 3 are upstairs & have wireless cards (USB). It found the Router but cant connect (too slow). BT took 1hr to Configure PC 2 & now he has to do same with PC 3.....

Is there an EASY way to Configure PC to Hub without a 1hr call to India I've only seen http://www.frequencycast.co.uk/homehub.html not much on there to assist him...

Or my other Question is. Can he connect Network Cable to the last post available on Hub (only 2x ports for Cat5). Can he run a 30m/50m Cat5 cable upstairs & then add that to a Linksys Router & use the 2x Ports off that to wire 2x PC's in? Not sure if that works or NOT?

Any advice is welcomed
Cheers

Re: BT Homehub Questions....

Shouldn't be a problem to connect to the router. Sounds like the wireless needs to be checked out. Perhaps there's another wireless network interfering.

Or of course it could just be that the USB wireless cards are pants as is the Homehub

Yes you can run Cat5 to another router and wire the PCs in, no worries. Would make more sense to run it to a switch though.
