Permanent number withheld (1470)

Hi,

I wonder whether anyone can shed any light on this.

I'm trying to get my phone line to be setup so the number is permanently withheld.

On the Virgin website it's got -

Permanent Number Withhold (1470)
Lets you withhold your phone number permanently. Dial 1470 to set it up.

But if I ring 1470 I get nothing, and when I called Virgin media they said it's a feature that won't be live until December. So I'm a bit confused.

Thanks

Mark

Re: Permanent number withheld (1470)

Not that it helps you much, but on BT exchanges, 1470 allows lines with the permanent number withheld feature enabled to release it for that one call only ~ normally used by people on dial-up connections where their isp requires them to present the CLI to enable a connection

Re: Permanent number withheld (1470)

I asked VM to make me ex-directory, and my number never goes out.

Re: Permanent number withheld (1470)

permanent no. conceal is a paid feature so therefore u need to get it activated on ur a/c through cus. ser.

if u need this single feature its for 1.75 or take the complete feature pack which will cost u 3.50

& 1470 will disable ur permanent no. conceal feature for one call ...
