calling Thailand mobiles
I have a couple of friends that live in Thailand and we call each other quite alot. at the mo i call on my tesco internet phone to there mobile phone in thailand, this was costing 6p per minute which i thought was amazing. anyway for some reason its costing more and £10 goes in 30 mins or so now. so i been wondering what it would cost to call with my virgin land line? is it going to be crazy high like £1 a minute
thanks
rob

Re: calling Thailand mobiles
if you have a contract mobile call 07744 200 007 and use that for calling thai mobiles. I use it on tmobile- it only costs you free minutes, or if you have used them all the price of x-network minutes.
Tmobile have, however, text me today saying they are going to charge 12p/min for calls to 07744 numbers from 1st June
No idea how much it would cost from the virgin landline though

With 0844 calls and free mobile access no's, the price is fixed/free! The only downside is that u lose ur connection fee if the call isnt connected, which only happens rarely!

I used them for a year or so and always got the minutes when i was using them, and i used to be on the phone for hours.
When i was doing it though i wasn't aware of this 0844 site though so it was my only option. I thought i heard on this site somewhere that Virgin where going to stop people using 0844 though?

I hope they dont!... it would just be another reason to move to BT/SKY!
BT cant block the 0844 no's due to regulations! It would be silly if VM did this! No one in their right mind would call directly from VM/BT unless it was an emergency!

Re: calling Thailand mobiles

Re: calling Thailand mobiles
rates to 0844 belong to a local distance band rather than a higher distance band.
The Number 08448612121 belongs to the band g8 according to BT's NCIP mapping
e.g. for the telecoms company i work for the rate is:0.00869
not a higher rate
