Recording subtitles from V+ to DVD player

Hi all,

I had this on another thread but it was getting unwieldy.

I got subtitles once on my DVD player using the following configuation but have been unable to replicate it.

Top scart on V+ to TV AV1 (Sony V3200)
Bottom scart on V+ to Toshiba DVD/Hard Drive XS34 AV1
Input setting on DVD player to AV1
Virgin picture set to RGB i.e. using AV1
HDMI cable attached from V+ port to TV HDMI port for quick HD switch to AV4
Toshiba HDD set both AV1 and AV2 to Video
Record program with subtitles from TV to V+
Subtitles record fine to V+
Copy program using the 'Copy DVD' function in settings
Press record on DVD player at the same time
The picture records fine but no subtiitles on DVD recording on hard drive

That's funny - I thought that the number of threads from you on the same subject was unwieldy!

Correct - the V+ is working as designed. Subtitles are superimposed only on V+ video outputs destined for TV, not for copying to VHS/DVD. If you wish to transfer subtitles to VHS/DVD, then you must temporarily use the upper SCART socket of the V+ to connect to your recorder, and watch the programme in real time while you record it on VHS/DVD. You cannot get subtitles using the "Copy to VHS/DVD" function of the V+ from the lower SCART output.
