Re: What are you on and How much you Paying?

Umm well all this talk of what offers people are getting is a bit pointless now..

As virgin have put a stop to rolling credits, which means customer can only now go on the bundle deals....

So all these people that are getting there prices reduced to silly amonts with credits each months, once they run out its tough. we can't apply them anymore and you will have to pay the same as everyone else.

about time in my opinion

Re: What are you on and How much you Paying?

Spot on Matty. I rang CS Monday to confirm that my VIP package would still be fitted on 16/03/07 as I had read on here that there might be a strike by engineers and as I had booked holiday I was checking to see if I should change my dates. A very pleasant young lady answered quickly and politely and even asked if I wanted to be phoned back as I was using the 0845 number.

After confirming that my dates were OK she asked if there was anything else she could help me with and I told her that I had had problems with my Prem Plus at the weekend and also my 10MB BB was intermittently slow. She apologised for the problem and said she was authorised to credit £7.00 to my account and suggested I ring 51 and report my BB fault.

When I said to her that I wasn't chasing a refund she seemed genuinely surprised. I got the feeling that the staff at CS must dread answering the phones now because it is almost certainly going to be someone asking for " A DEAL".

I am more than happy now that there is a (fair)fixed price for packages (something that has happened only recently) and if VM are to improve their services then we should pay the correct price for them. So come on everyone, if you have good service accept that and leave the phone lines free for people with genuine problems.

Re: What are you on and How much you Paying?

I resisted the temptation to phone and try blag a deal, was quite happy swithching to VIP which saved me nearly £30 per month and gave me movies + sport.

Today I recieved my first bill since VM launch and switching to VIP. Made interesting reading

In the section for refunds + discounts, it says I've had partial months service from 15 January to 17 March -£86.91

Looking through all the bits that make up the package, they've now added Talk Unlimited When I switched VIP only included Talk International and Talk Mobile.

So after all the deductions, with all our calls, several PPV movies, etc, I'm left with a bill for £30

Has anyone else had these kind of discounts on bills?

If Mattyshef is VM staff, one look at the language construct speaks volumes.

If VM stop discounting, do you people seriously think you're going to see any extra money??

Which part of the phrase "food chain" don't you understand?

Yes I have, mine showed a credit of £40+ but they rang me yesterday to say they had "cocked up" (my words) the bill and they had applied too many discounts!! So they then bamboozled me with figures till I gave in, but then rang retentions, complained about CS inefficiency and got a much better deal. So watch out for that call!

Smile Re: What are you on and How much you Paying?

Just rung virgin and got a good deal.

I used to have Sky entertainment pack with Sky Sports for £37 and Virgin for XL Broadband £25 so was paying £62pm!!

Earlier in month ditched sky and got the 2 for £20 TV & BB with Virgin, just rung and said if they could do an offer on sports as Sky Sports News had gone from Virgin and they gave me:

TV XL
BB M
All Sky Sports

for £30pm for a year.

I'm chuffed as its miles less than the £62pm i was paying!!

Rolling Credits are credits that the system applys automatically each month when the bills are produced. So I some one say I'll give you ten pound off for 6 months it would be a rolling credit thats applied.

How does my language construct effect how I do my job. I work in a call centre I use my voice and just to point out I've got A levels in Economics, Business Studies and Computer Science and currently at Uni.

Only predefined ones set by the powers that be, The staff have had the right to make the decisions taken away from them.

But no qualifications in English. I always thought that for a customer facing position, that would be a primary consideration....Oh, just remembered the Indian call centres, cancel that!

As to the discounts people get, why should you care? You won't see any more money if it stops, not that it will stop soon.

A product is only worth what people will pay for it, and part of any product is customer service.
VM have a way to go yet before they can demand a premium.

Re: What are you on and How much you Paying?

Does this sound about right for the price.

Bill is £70

From the bill I can see

XL TV
L Broadband
Sky Sports
no idea what the phone option is.

Is that a good deal for what we get and could we get cheaper ?

Re: What are you on and How much you Paying?

I think I've been getting ripped-off...although it's probably my fault for not checking exactly what bundle I WAS on and what was available! the latest bill, which I got this morning was for just short of ninety quid comprising;
Family pack tv
Phone line rental
4MB broadband
Sports and Movies
and just over nine pounds worth of phone calls.

Rang them and got the VIP deal for £85. So, not only do I have to pay less but I get more for what I DO pay. And I'm quite happy with the deal. Although, I do have to admit that I was kinda hoping I'd get a deal like some of the people on here...I was hoping to get the full package for around £10 per month for the next 12 months. With unlimited phone calls to mobiles and premium rate numbers. 50mb broadband. Oh yeah, and unlimited week-end sex with Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon.

Ha Ha Ha... You forgot to add in "after the 12 months phone back and renegotiate".
