18:58 Blackout in Oxted, Surrey
Our signal cuts out, like clockwork, everyday at 18:58 and then sometimes a minute after that. It drives my wife crazy as that is the exact time they say who the winner is on Master Chef!?
Can anyone solve the riddle?

Can you not watch it through your analog aerial or is that cutting off also?

Re: 18:58 Blackout in Oxted, Surrey
Hi,
I am in Portsmouth and have had the same problem for over a month now, around 7 pm almost every day blank screen for 30 sec - 1min then o.k. Then completly random, also randomly sound goes out of sync have to change channels to solve it.
Spoke to virgin all they suggested was unpluging the box from the wall and restarting. When I asked for a callout I was told if a fault was not found I would be charged so I have left it for the time being.
Were you told the same?
It will be interesting to see if a replacement box sorts it.

Re: 18:58 Blackout in Oxted, Surrey
Engineer called today replaced our STB with another Pace radiator and said they had a problem with this fault last year and he was getting 2 or 3 a week at the moment but ours was the first in this area but once it started it usually spread until enough people complained and NTL fixed it unfortunately i was a work when he called and he did not specify the fault or the fix Update as i type this the tv has just gone off and stayed off until reboot BBC 2 only how strange

Re: 18:58 Blackout in Oxted, Surrey
We have the new TV Drive Box (V+ in Virgin talk) and the old box set up in the bedroom, recently though I have noticed that the picture freezes and jumps on both boxes, or individually on either, for a few moments at a time? Is this a common problem, or is it just an isolated case?

Re: 18:58 Blackout in Oxted, Surrey
Thanks for all the replies on this thread...
Should I be reporting this as a fault? My fear is that I have a small problem now that could become a huge one .... better the devil I know? When their tech guys start working on a problem I seem to think they create more issues then they solve - every contacted CS in India .... need I say more.
I cannot get terrestrial telly as we are surrounded by the Surrey Hills so hence cable only.
Thanks for the alternative channel for BBC2

Re: 18:58 Blackout in Oxted, Surrey
The engineer who called today told the moosus that until enough people complained Virgin would just ignore it
