Installed Today ..The Good And The Bad Parts Of V+

Had my v+ for bout 7 hours now and so far it has been very very good but there are a few gripes i have

good points...

for some reason there is more on demand stuff available and its all showing as subscribed as part of my package.

Its so easy to start recording series and will even tell you when that show is on for next few weeks.

bad points

menus are very very slow and have frozen 3 times completely , but engineer did say 24 hours and all problems will iron out.

cannot access virgin central and it is not on on demand list anymore , the only way to access on v+ is by pressing red button , but it just says loading and never actually loads..

and my biggest complaint (and i think sky + is the same ) is why if you switch over from channel you have been watching for while to something else and then back to original , you lose the ability to rewind to when you were watching before,

so i am watching champions league re run at 15.00 till 15.10 , i then turn over to something else and then back to champions league at 15.25 and go to rewind it will only go back to when i just turned to channel ,

why cant something that does everything it does not record in background your last few channels so if you go back to them you can stil rewind that channel

Maybe wiping the rewind store on channel change is a feature. The missus walks in the room so you quickly change channel and she can't rewind to see you were previously watching porn.

Every channel you wanted the ability to rewind on would require a tuner.

I did the same with the football last night . If you record the program you can rewind. All you have to do is watch the football via the v+ button and recordings.

The downside is you have to stop the recording to change channel. But all you do is go back to recordings and watch the football from where you left off.

good thinking mate

but then on other occasions i am imagining that i dont pause the footie on sunday go to get some beers etc .. come back she has turned over to some absolute tosh like american idol or something and i now cant watch that 10 minutes of football i missed

---------- Post added at 18:46 ---------- Previous post was at 18:41 ----------

when you press record whilst on a channel do you have to keep watching that channel , so if i press record during football and turn over to bbc 1 it will record me turning over unless i have done it in guide to record football

also

i know you cannot record the virgin on demand stuff like little britain , 2 and a half men etc due to copyright is message i get

but if i pay 14.95 for wrestlemania but dont wanna stay up till stupid oclock to watch it can i record that as i am paying same bloody price s the dvd will cost when it comes out , i think i remember reading somewhere you can record pay per view but auto wipes off system after 24 hours.. (which is joke , for 15 quid it should be yours )
