Zinglabarb, If you had nothing informative to say about the thread then say nothing, If you think its in the wrong Discussion group then report it, but please say something constructive in your replys to posting made. I respect that you have a high standing in this forum, but please think before you post, Sometimes its better to think somethings than to say somethings....
Sorry If I offend you by my remarks, they are not ment to be hostile in any way, but I would like to quote something you said:
Nothing under my skull well I laugh in your face cuz my rep isnt just for posts and the number of helpful post awards ive had in 2 years aint bad for someone who you consider has a useless brain.
Well your post was very helpfull... thank you
PEACE and best wishes

if you use the quote feature (and maybe the search feature) it would work better
I reiterate my rhetoric from other shaping threads . Im quite happy as a heavy user to have my speed capped from 10 meg to 5 meg at peak times its fine imo its a good idea and is fair for all and coming from someone as selfish as me if I can deal with it everyone should be able to. This forum has been inundated by posts from people who see shaping mentioned and assume everything wrong with there net is this and this is bull. The 2 threads already on this subject have discussed shaping massively and got nowhere as this thread will too

I'll restate my position too. Yes i think it's alright.
Business's will never supply infrastructure for 5% of individuals, it doesn't make economic sense, we have a similar situation in my organisation where we have enough licences for a database we use to cover a third of the staff. Is it fair in exceptional circumstances there some staff can't get onto the system right when they want? No it's not, but that's the reality we live in. Money should never be wasted.

Re: Virgin Advert last night
ok here's the Virgin flyer I got today word for word:-
"the speed advertised is the speed you get, as it doesn't matter how far you live from the telephone exchange - unlike other broadband providers"
no small print or whatever to mention that there is contention or congestion during the busy hours which can reduce your speed.
