V+ Your Views
Okay so some of us have the v+ for a few days or weeks,so what do you think of it,did it match your expectations or not what features do you like and not like.
(Like)
1,menus realy fast.
2,cool to be able to record two streams while still channel hopping.
3,vod added bonus.
4,copy function and still watch something else (tried yesterday).
5,virgin menus easy to navigate.
(Not Like)
Not found anything yet.
So myself have sky for years and then sky+ jumping from them to ntl (virgin)12 months ago has been worth the wait box is super dont know how we went 12 months but managed, couple of things i did notice with the v+ was you cant after pauseing go slow motion or record radio channels maybe thease will be downloaded in the future.
out of ten i would give it
9/10 super piece of kit.

Re: V+ Your Views
Tonight I'm watching 24 while recording Supernatural. I may even watch a film while those 2 programmes are recording.
Earlier I set a series link (via the super fast EPG) for Lost which starts next Sunday.
Its even remembered that Season 2 of The Unit is on next Friday.
I love it. Nuff said.

Re: V+ Your Views
You gotta love thi piece of Technology.
As soon as I got it on Saturday, I booked in TNA iMPACT!, and series linked it.
It recorded perfect and has continued to book in the future episodes.
Next? I recorded and watched iMPACT! as well as recording Match of the Day.
I couldn't be arsed waiting an hour for the match (Blackburn) to be shown 3rd to last (as always).
So the ability to fast forward it is great too!
The next day? Sunday?
We have Man Utd vs. Tottenham on Super Sunday on Sky Sports 1, Tenacious D 10 Commandments on Kerrang!, Barcelona vs. Osasuna on Sky Sports 3, plus Emmerdale and Corrie for the Mrs.
She was out, I went out at 7.10pm.
Man Utd clashed with Barca by 5 mins, but the Two Tuners sorted that.
Then the First Tuner recorded the Soaps, and when I got home, I was a happy bunny!
Today? Trisha Goddard in a Series Link.
No Faults, Fails or Cock Ups.
Picture is perfect. Easy to use. Doesn't look too appealing, but I'm gonna make an alternate Facias for the front usong my artistic talent. lol
The channel Surfing is a little slow, and the typing of the numbers sometimes require pressing OK to view, and my Press Red doesn't work, but all in all, 9/10!
Spot on!

Re: V+ Your Views
Hi guys,
Just wondering as with the current ntl setup (tv guide) 3 days of view, browsing the guide is very slow. On the new box i believe its now 8 days of guide, what do you guys think of when browsing. Is it fast like the sky systems?

Re: V+ Your Views
The guide is awesome!
Better than sky, as far as I am concerned.
8 days is great! the speed is fantastic.
The Page Up/Down functions, the programs are all loaded up with information, and its all instantanious!
That is definitly an advantage to this new system!
In other words: I totally agree Gadge! lol

Re: V+ Your Views
Thanks guys, its so frustrating when using the current guide takes upto 40 secs to load especially when changing days or +5hrs ahead.
Only thing stopping me in joining the v+ is the lack of hd channels, if and when they are out to virgin will they charge for the sub's for hd's? Or is it all included in the 10/15 charge of the v+ system.

Re: V+ Your Views
It will all be included I should think.
But as we know, Sky are @$$'s and it all depends on what they charge.
I just restarted my V+ and it took 20 seconds for the TV Guide and Information Bar to load up all the info.
The TV Guide is up and running after 20 seconds with all the info, and scheduling etc.

Why did you need to restart your V+?

Re: V+ Your Views
well I did it to count how many seconds it takes to load, as well as to see if my Red Button was working, which it isn't ... but that's in another topic.
Simply put, the V+ is value for money simply for the PVR functions it has.
It doesn't matter about HD channels as of yet, as the picture is crystal on the normal channels.
and the way I look at it is Sky charge you the one off amount for the box, Virgin don't, yet channels will be added in the future.

Re: V+ Your Views
Hi there, I am due to get my V+ box in a couple of weeks and so that I am ready for can anyone tell me what the outputs from the box to an HDMI TV are. How many connectors will I need. The reason I ask is that I am having my TV wall mounted before the V+ installation and want to know what cables I need to pre-install in the back of the TV (Sony Bravia 46W2000).

One HDMI cable is all you need. The installer might need a SCART connection to the TV to get the box initially configured: after that the SCART can be lost.
