TWAIN Driver for Vista and HP 5100C Scanner

Windows Vista on order for delivery very soon

However, one area highlighted as possible issue is my HP 5100C scanner that connects via Parallel Port (yes, I know it's old, but it currently works fine on XP for my use) . Anyone know if this will be an issue and if so where I may get a suitable TWAIN driver, please (have software for scanning that should be OK)?

I have tried HP site and Googled, but got bogged down not really knowing what was what

Hope you can help.

Cheers

You mean something like a Canon Canoscan Lide 25 ?

Seems to be what I would like, cheap simple (just used for scanning letters to PDF, don't need OCR or for photos). Also no power supply, just USB. If only I'd known about this when the free P&P offer was on at Ebuyer!

I'll see if my trusty 5100C works with Vista, if not, I shall have to move my scanning into the 21Century

Don't worry, I won't every buy anything Epsom!

Bought the Canon - suddenly the old HP 5100C seems very 1990s (big and clunky). Canon works OK, but it's very S L O W. Managed to find Vista stuff for it, so once Vista arrives, I 'should' be OK (tempts fate).

Cheers
