Re: PVR release dates
Hi Newtod
Its not that its not available in the solent region, I suspect the its more like they've either run out of installation dates or the boxes themselves. blueview must be just down the road from you (hes PO16) and he got a date okay as did I (PO9) and Crooky in Gosport. I think there just trying to stager the demand by claiming its not avaliable

If you have the TV Size: XL pack then it is £10 per month.

Sorry - I did put that it was a different price with XL, but forgot to add the amount.
It's interesting to note that if you currently have an additional STB, that will cost you £15 per month. Take the V+ box on the new rates, and keep your existing STB, and the cost is £10 + £5 per month. Same price, so for anyone currently with two boxes, it makes sense to change one and pay the same rate.

It really could not be clearer in the PDF.
|
Yeah, I have seen the PDF but when I saw BlueViews comments above
Quote:
My monthly cost for the V Box is £10. The unused old box is £5 monthly
But I'm given a £5 discount as I have the Family Pack
So, in essence, it's £10 monthly but no installation fee.

I think I got confused.
No matter though, once I've convinced the missus that V+ is the way forward then I'll be subscribing.

Did I not also read somewhere that you can set it off outputting and watch something else while you're copying off onto dvd?

Re: PVR release dates
You certainly can! The V+ Extras section includes "Copy to VCR/DVD" - this will play any recorded content you select to the VCR SCART only, leaving you free to watch whatever you want on the TV SCART/HDMI/Component outputs while the recorded programme copies over! And you can still record two other programmes at the same time.
For it to copy HD content, though, you'll need the main output to be in SCART mode.

Re: PVR release dates
After getting the virgin media mailing shot through the post i emailed NTL about the availability of the V+ box in Stoke on Trent.
Got a very imformative reply.
We are able to order the V+ box from the begining of feburary. Not long to wait now.

I wish people the best of luck on getting a tv drive installed after the crap i went through, from not turning up about 3 times to the installer turning around on my drive way and wheel spining away and reporting it as a not at home,

Just to throw a spanner into the works - I actually said to the V Box agent :
"So the extra net cost to me for the V Box and the non-connected old Samsung Box is £10 a month"
His answer : "Yes. You can have the Samsung connected later if you wish, but by leaving it on the premises you'll save the £75 installation fee."
I honestly can't see anyone sensibly sending the old box back.
When connected and used for a year and then cancelled it'll cost £60 whilst sending it back will cost £75 !
