Hibernating Error?

When I put my laptop in hibernate mode, the screen goes blank for a couple of seconds and then my desktop loads up again and I get this error message in my task bar:

Windows - System Error
Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API.

Help please??

not enough ram maybe?

I think that would be not enough disk space...

I have 2GB RAM and I have 14GB hard disk space left.....

Edit: Just tried hibernating again and now its working..... Thanks for your help anyway.

Now I only have limited knowledge on this but I thought hibernating saved the system state to ram not to the hard drive?

It's saved to disk.

When hibernation mode is activated, all current applications running in memory are saved to disk, and the computer is turned off.

Saves to hard drive, so the machine can be switched off moved around whatever, and then switched back on to dormer state

In Stand By Mode nothing in memory is saved to disk.

A power-saving mode that is activated in order to conserve the battery. For example, depending on user settings, the hard disk may be turned off, the display may be turned down or off, and the CPU may be throttled down to a lower-power mode. Nothing in memory is saved to the disk, and restoring full operation is faster than turning the computer off or going into hibernation mode.

There was a Microsoft KB article on this error with a hotfix available. Unfortunately I don't have the link. Ive seen it previously. Maybe a quick google search would help?

I had this problem on mine. It happens when you are using over 1Gb of RAM. Installing this hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909095 sorted it for me.
