The case of missing folder

Hello

I have been eating my nails for this problem for a long time.
I am using NOD 32 now and when I connect to the internet it is fine at the begining. And after I shut down the computer , The folder-option is gone!!!!
It happens all the time, I am tired of reinstalling XP over again and again
Is that a virus? why NOD32 is unable to stop it. I have update NOD32.

Please advise

thanks
