Set Top Box Ethernet Cable

Hi ... quick question.

Have 4mb broadband through set top box Samsung SMT2100C.

Since the Samsung box replaced the old Pace the LAN speed shows as 10Mbps and not 100Mbps as it used to.

I'm just checking that this has nothing to do with the old 20 metre Cat5e cable that came straight out of the pace and into the samsung, which is a patch cable and not crossover.

This is the correct cable type for the Samsung box?

Re: Set Top Box Ethernet Cable

Only certain boxes needed a crossover and those would have a label or etching on the back of the unit saying "x-over"

Re: Set Top Box Ethernet Cable

And the LAN port on the STB is 10M I believe. Since you need a SACM for top tiers this shouldn't be an issue.
