which is better to use for a new project - myspace/blogspot

i am working on a new project, ideally i would like to have an independent website, but its gonna cost me a bit of money to do it professionally...i have purchased the domain...but i was wondering whether making a myspace profile or a blogspot may be better and a cheaper option.

the content i would have on there would be similar to what i would want on my website

about me, a bit about the project, gallery, videos, contact etc

any ideas...
thanks

You can get hosting for very little. I paid I-Web (they don't do this anymore) about £10 for 100MB space and 2000MB transfer a month. It was all set-up for me and very little hassle.

If you look around you should be able to find similar.

I think MySpace looks pretty simple to use.

ewwww myspace is horrible. Web hosting is not always expensive, depending on your needs. It depends what project you have, but you seem to have quite a varyed on. Video and Gallery for example.

More details would be helpful. but try and avoid myspace

as the domain has already been bought, does the control panel allow assignment of the addy to e.g. an ntl addy?

You need a DNS server for that homie - I recommend www.zoneedit.com for that but if you paid the ~£10 for the year then your provider should give you a DNS server to use.

Re: which is better to use for a new project - myspace/blogspot

We have bought brilliantly cheap and good hosting for our websites from evohosting.
I can't complain.. their uptime is amazingly good and my package alone is £2 a month! (And the other packages are ridiculously affordable!)

They give you a whole load of extras - gallery, shoutcast server (which I got ) and plenty of other things... such as Teamspeak (there's a one-off setup charge for some things, you'd have to check..)
The control panel is nicely laid out (for a n00b like me anyway!) and yeah, you won't believe what you actually get!

The support is excellent. I cant really fault them.. if there's a problem and you email them, its sorted out really quickly

Myspace can be pretty precarious at times and blogspot does go down now and then.......

Evohosting provide weblogging c/o wordpad - which I have to admit, I do like!

All I can suggest is you take a look and decide...

We've already directed a few friends of ours to Evohosting and they are impressed!

Microsoft Office Live has just come out in the UK, might be worth a try... free domain and hosting.
